People Are Saying About You Are Not Alone, Volume 2: | |
| "Truly inspiring" "To
know that others have struggled just as much, and that they cannot 'only' survive,
but thrive and live a better life, is truly inspiring." |
Ashley P. from BC, Canada,
is in recovery from anorexia She encourages others to find their voice, and
never give up on themselves |
| "Don't give
up five minutes before the miracle!" "This is a powerful
collection of hopes, dreams, despair… and victories! They are all war stories,
written by survivors. Thank you to Andrea and to each of the people who share
their journeys with eating disorders. I started this book and read it all the
way through. It reminded me of so many of the stages that I went through for
thirty years, struggling with my eating disorder all alone. Back then, no one
talked about it, and I had no role models to know that recovery is even possible!
Well, now I am living proof that it is… and that life can be fabulous once you
give up "Perfect!" If you or someone you know needs help, please speak up and
tell someone. Don't settle for less than wonderful in your life. And don't
give up five minutes before the miracle!" |

| "I am not
alone" "I believe many people suffering with eating disorders
ask one question in common: 'If Recovery is Possible.' Seeking an answer is somehow
easier than taking the necessary steps towards recovery! Over the last four years
I have been a constant reader of Andrea Roe's work! Her writing and knowledge
of Anorexia, Bulimia and other associated eating disorders are not only useful
but also inspirational. Now with Andrea's second book You Are Not Alone, Volume
2, comes more inspirational readings; perfect for anyone suffering, recovering,
or supporting someone with an eating disorder. I personally recommend Andrea
Roe's work, as she has been a shining star in my own personal battle with Anorexia.
Andrea, I am forever grateful to you for helping me find the right path
on my road to recovery and reminding me that I am, in fact, Not alone!!" |

| "I cannot
say enough about how this book has helped me." "Andrea
Roe's book, You Are Not Alone, Volume 2, is all inspiring, ever helping
us to remember we are truly not alone in fighting whatever eating disorder
we may struggle with or even have overcome. The book is a collection of different
writings and art from people going through the same struggles. It gives me
hope when I'm struggling, to hear how others were able to overcomes their disorder.
I know for me to hear from others' hearts who have gone through the same things
and some who have overcome gives me hope, and I can pick up and read when I
feel no one could possibly understand what I'm going through. Each
writing is so precious, and there's something for everyone with some that
will touch a very strong cord in you. As you flip through the pages, the more
you can see how eating disorders, self-injury, etc. had tried to steal our voice
that we had had all along. Once we are able to let go of whatever destructive
pattern we have going on in our life, then the true healing begins. We may
find joy we have never felt before, maybe actually just 'feel' for the first time
or in a long time. The book also comes with a CD full of songs that
are healing for the mind as well as the soul. I cannot say enough
about how this book has helped me. It takes you through the ups and downs
of individuals' struggles, but leaves you with a feeling of hope that not only
are you not alone, but that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I think it would be awesome if there were more things out there like this,
instead of things that are only going to hurt us or break us down (i.e. some magazines
and television shows). All the best to everyone who contributed to make this book
possible. My hope is everyone who picks this up and reads it will be blessed
as I have, to continue in recovery or to get help if needed." |

| "Journeys
to happier, healthier lives" "This book is an unflinching,
no-holds-barred collection of the writings of women affected by eating disorders.
I applaud the bravery and creativity of this compilation's contributors, as they
describe their own journeys to happier, healthier lives." |
| "You can
life ED (eating disorder) free" "This is the book
which has helped me to FINALLY get into recovery after battling for eleven years
with bulimia.... Andrea Roe's 'You Are Not Alone' is an invaluable tool for
those suffering with an Eating Disorder (ED) of any nature, and also for their
loved ones and supporters, as it will help them to understand the confusing and
dangerous nature of the condition. Through the very real experience of
over 30 unique and inspiring women from all over the world, including the author
herself, the book illuminates the truth: Recovery IS possible and you can live
life ED free, appreciating the beauty of youself as a person, and the possibilities
and opportunities of the world around you! The frank and personal accounts,
poems and artwork show how from some of the lowest points imaginable, these
amazing women were able to start and succeed on their journey back to well
being - in body and mind!I really cannot recommend this book enough! |
